"Eliza Gail"

Diagnosed: 4 Months Old

Eliza is almost 7 years old and is doing well so far in her battle against CF. She fights CF by always doing her treatments with the relatively new RespirTech vest, and by taking her approximately 30 + pills per day.

Eliza has issues with sinus infections as well as gastrointestinal involvement.  She frequently complains of "tummy" pain - and sometimes grows tired of eating... eating... and eating.  It's her "job" to eat as her parents say - and Eliza does well - especially for a 7 year old.  Eliza knows how many pills she should take and even knows when in her meal to take them.  She's "extraordinary" according to Dr. Warren Warwick.

Eliza even has her own website: www.miraclesforeliza.org

"Jen"

Diagnosed: 1 Year Old

Jen is 36 years old and considers herself lucky as this is the exact age of the average life expectancy for a person with CF. She does treatments with her ThAIRapy vest, and with nebulized medications twice a day. She also takes 25 pills a day to help with digestion and to maintain overall health.

Although Jen must take enzymes to help aid in her digestion, her digestive system functions fairly well comparatively speaking.  Her main issue with CF is in her lungs.  Along with her twice daily treatments, about once every year she goes on a 3 week regimen of IV antibiotics to help keep the infections at bay.   She is encouraged by all of the studies and research going into finding better medications for CF and has hopes that they will one day find a cure.

Jen and her husband Pete have been involved with the Evening of Miracles gala since its inception in 2003. Pete is our Chairperson this year and is doing a FABULOUS job!
